About the opportunity

Ellucian is seeking an innovative and dynamic Senior Softwere Engineer developing in NodeJS. We are looking for a hands-on individual to be an integral part of the design, build out and adoption of exciting new cloud-based higher education solution.

Working closely with product architects and product management you will be working on in a new technology project involving the design and creation of a new green field product.

Where you will make an impact

• Participating in the design, development and delivery of new solutions for the next generation of Higher Education products.
• Providing technical leadership in the analysis and review of proposed system features and integration, security, scalability and performance requirements with users, Business Analysts, Architects, and other team members
• You will be involved in the development methodologies, design, testing automation (Gradle, Junit, Mockito etc.) best practices and procedures.
• Working closely with the test engineers this is a Full-stack development position. Including data modelling and database builds, middleware, frontend UI and webservices.

What you will bring

• 5+ years’ experience developing applications using NodeJS in a software product company.
• Strong experience with React.js or another modern javascript framework.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
• Solid fundamentals on Object Oriented Design, Patterns and Data Structures.
• Preferred experience in building cloud products.
• Hands on experience with design and development of highly available, distributed and scalable transactional enterprise systems
